Earlier Wednesday morning, November 02, 2016, 2 Urbandale officers, Des Moines Police Sgt. Anthony Beminio and Urbandale Officer Justin Martin, were sitting in their patrol cars near Des Moines, IA. Both Police forces said they were going to take more precautions to protect their officers from ambush shootings such as the one the that happened this morning. The suspect, Scott Michael Greene, was arrested shortly after the shooting and is detained by Dallas County Police, just west of Des Moines. Mr. Greene was in a liquor store before shooting the officers and shot the clerk and a customer of said store with an assault rifle. Chief McCarty said Greene was arrested April of 2014 and plead guilty to misdemeanors on both arrests in April; arrested again in 2001 and again earlier this year, 2016.

This article that I read is the exact reason why we have the issue with the Bearing of Arms, our Second Amendment. I’m curious as to how, Scott Greene, was able to purchase or even HAVE said weaponry on his persons while having charges on his record dating as far back as 2001.
