The World Series Champs are back home, in good ol’ Chicago, after making history with a win 8-7 in Cleveland taking the game into extra innings for the win in Game 7. The Cubs are looking forward to a big and great celebration with their fans in a Parade form, as plans are still underway with the City of Chicago’s preparation for said rally.
“We’re working with the city. We’re aiming for Friday, but not everything’s cleared up yet,” said Crane Kenney, president of business operations for the Cubs. “It seems like that game already was two days ago. It was a great day for our city, a great day for our fans. I tell you, our fans showed up. We took that ballpark [Progressive Field] over today, and a lot of this belongs to them” (Cited From CBS Chicago)
With the Parade being on Friday the City of Chicago exclaims that officers will be tired after working so late on Wednesday’s game and it would be too much of a stretch to go back-to-back with a midnight game and then a celebratory parade/rally a day and half later, especially since the fans took to the streets in celebration which begun in Addison, at Wrigley Field and ended in Downtown Chicago.
An official announcement will go live later Thursday afternoon or evening about plans for the Parade/Rally.
